Happy House is located on Playa Grande which is a large secluded beautiful beach centered between Punta Uva and the little town of Manzanillo. This remote area is harder to reach but more rewarding for the effort. The rich culture, vegetation and wildlife are beyond what most will ever experience.
Manzanillo is a tiny fishing village
with Caribbean restaurants and
jerk chicken shacks. Here you can
find the entrance to Gandoca
National wildlife refuge, charter a
boat for Tarpon or Bone fishing, or
go snorkeling right from the beach.
Punta Uva is consistently ranked one of
the best beaches in Costa Rica. There
are shops to rent scuba and snorkel
gear, kayaks, SUPs or surfboards.
With a little hike you may discover
the legendary grave of the last known
pirate of the Caribbean. Or just relax
in a beachfront bar or restaurant.
Puerto Viejo is a vibrant town full of
restaurants, bars, shopping, art,
music and street vendors. You can
stroll on the historic streets
visiting shops full of colorful art
and crafts with the smells of seafood
grilling and the sounds of calypso and
reggae in the background.
Other attractions in the area include
Jaguar Rescue Foundation,
ARA Emerald Macaw Project,
Chocolate tours, ziplines,
surf schools, scuba diving,
snorkeling, tarpon and bone fishing,
horseback riding on the beach,
waterfalls and yoga studios.
